Algiers Lizard Aviator Cap.

The desert takes its toll.

The sands of time like the sands of Algiers have weathered this French Lizard Shelter  to a condition where its function has become as faded as France is a colonial power. Cutting around the tatters of decay and mending as he goes, maestro cap maker, Troy O’Shea, has managed to salvage enough fabric to make seven aviators caps.

Developed by France on the back of the British Denison smock and its brushstroke patterns, the French Lizard serves the Algiers War from 1954-1962. It then went on to be the founding pattern for the Tiger Stripe camouflage which was prolific throughout the conflict in Vietnam and South East Asia.

It’s been three years since my last Lizard release back in 2020, and I’m looking forward to this super limited release. As usual if these last a few hours on line I’ll be lucky so don’t hesitate if you want one.
