The Battleship Row Cap sits at the point where civilian workwear met the demands of war.

As American industry turned its full weight toward the war effort, workwear factories were called upon to produce military uniforms and equipment. Familiar workers’ caps began appearing in military-grade HBT — practical, hard-wearing and perfectly suited to the men building, repairing and keeping the fleet moving.

Our Battleship Row Cap salutes the civilian contractors and Navy yard workers who, in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, laboured around the clock to repair damaged ships and return the Pacific Fleet to fighting strength.

Cut from rugged HBT and shaped with the easy character of a vintage worker’s cap, it carries a little of the shipyard with it — welding sparks, steel decks, oil-stained hands and long shifts beneath the Hawaiian sun.

Civilian by origin. Naval by circumstance.
