Embarking from submarines at night, Marine Raiders hit beaches all along the island chains of the South Pacific. On their feet they wear Papa Nui Collaboration sneakers, footwear designed for stealth, comfort and rugged service.
Made in conjunction with the John Lofgren boot maker company and supported by The Rite Stuff, this tripartite release is as awesome as they come.
Three powerhouses of design joining in a communal product offering with triple branding in the classic vein of early 90’s Japanese denim brand collaborations.
-Built on the beautiful John Lofgren Champion sneaker last.
-Crafted from 1860’s replica Amoskeag indigo denim.
-Olive gum sole and tonal laces.
-Papa Nui and the Right Stuff internal brand stamps.
-John Lofgren external heel rubber label.
-Fully made in Japan by Moonstar using traditional vulcanising techniques developed in this Kurame factory in 1912.
*This project coincides with the 15th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, which devastated the Tohoku region of Japan. The John Lofgren Company headquartered in Sendai, was very close to the epicenter.
To mark the 15th anniversary, $15 from every pair sold will be donated to the Hatachi Fund, a charity created after the disaster to support children affected by the earthquake and tsunami until they reach 20 years old. “Hatachi” means 20 years old in Japanese.
