Before the beaches were secured, before the landing craft dropped their ramps, there were men already in the water. The scouts, swimmers and demolition specialists of the Combat Battalion’s Underwater Demolition Teams. Men who worked ahead of the invasion force, sounding the reefs, charting the approaches and clearing the obstacles that stood between the fleet and the shore.

Their equipment was simple, functional and built for the most unforgiving environment on earth.

The Papa Nui Beach Battalion Watch takes its inspiration from this remarkable chapter of Pacific warfare.

Conceived as a no-nonsense naval utility timepiece, the watch combines the purposeful appearance of early military diving instruments with the reliability of a Japanese Miyota 8215 automatic movement.

A black dial carries the USN BuShips designation, surrounded by oversized aged-luminous markers and a rotating elapsed-time bezel. At six o’clock sits the unmistakable Papa Nui shield, our own mark of experimental garment and equipment research.

Rated to 200 metres, the Combat Dive Watch is intended as a companion for salt water, sand, sun and the occasional hostile shore.
