On R&R in Queensland Australia, USN Naval personnel; Submariners and PT Boat men, enjoyed the facilities at the Coolangatta Rest Area. At Camp No.4 on Greenmount Hill, Navy men walked down the path to the sand only to encounter Papa Nui himself. The Papa ran a makeshift PX concession in a thatched hut on the beach adjacent to his favourite Southern point break and conducted a brisk business in hats, caps and trunks, all essentials for service on the beaches of the Pacific. The pick of the inventory was the Fleet Training Hat, a Daisy Mae variant made in Natural coloured Herringbone Twill that was a perfect addition to all USN kit as well as being a favourite of the Papa for long days under the Queensland sun.
-100% cotton natural coloured Herringbone Twill.
-Fully crafted in Japan by John Lofgren Bootmaker.

Exceptionally comfortable from the very first wear, with superior quality that stands out. A version made from hemp would be a fantastic addition!
A great fabric in that fabric that gives it a nice heft.
