What better way to represent Fort Nui from the Atoll than vintage military chic?! The moment I laid eyes on this vest, I knew I must have it! Not only was it the only one left, it was exactly my size! How fortuitious! Fortune Favors the Bold! I ordered some other much needed supplies from Papa Nui like their amazing battle worn caps, tees and patches to complete my outfit! The wardrobe reinforcements arrived in a timely manner and not a moment too soon! Needless to say, I was the envy of the night when I arrived in my white tee, vintage cotton twill pants, partisan cap and my Freewheelers Liberator Vest as my accent piece! Battle Won! Huge fan of Papa's "U.S. Armed Forces Fly Fishing Club" paraphernalia items (patches and buttons). Not just because I fly fish but because these items directly link to an actual informal fly fishing club started by my Area IV Commander at Camp Walker in Daegu, Republic of Korea back in 2007. These patches (and buttons) precisely hit the nostalgia "feels" for me from that time period. And, the sewing & lettering on the the patches precisely mimics the style used then by Korean merchants who had side hustles making custom military patches and sewing for U.S. Forces Korea personnel garrisoned on the Peninsula.
