The Skyknight. (Hell Cat special edition).

Another magnificent cap that explores the theme of my love for post WWII planes. The Douglas F-10 Sky Knight was a Navy Marine jet fighter designed to escort B-29’s on night bombing missions over Korea in the early 1950’s. Only one aircraft was lost to air combat against a MiG 15. My cap builds highly on this rep! Charcoal Black jungle cloth whip cord, references both Navy fabrications of the era as well as the F-10’s mission role. Under the visor detailing as well as the sweatband is constructed using HBT in olive drab, whilst adding  to the comfort and utility of wearing this cap. Styling is typical of early 50’s Naval aviation and draws on the Papa’s all time most popular cap, the Hell Cat with a  silhouette that provides maximum cover from the elements. Another rugged piece to accompany your ever expanding kit and one that will age with a unique patina for years to come.

-100% cotton jungle cloth

-HBT internal detailing.

-Army duck canvas visor lining for superior styling options.

-Made in Japan by John Lofgren Boot maker

Overbuilt cap perfection…

Oh my Gawd…this one is #33 for me, of the Papa’s creation; and might just be ‘the one’. The one they put on you when you’re in your casket (with a vintage pair Aviators, of course). Love the black jungle cloth on this sturdy cap. I’d pay full price for another one, if I thought I’d wear this one out! But…Lofgren builds caps like he does boots…overbuilt! I really don’t think you’d have seen this quality back in the day, when Zero’s and P-51’s ruled the skies (or even MIG’s for that matter). You might be surprised at how shoddy and quickly some of their kit back then was manufactured. ‘Just get ‘em outfitted and out on the line, the deck or in the skies!’
THIS cap is exceptional! Thanks…again, John and John!

Yes overbuilt is the perfect discription, I love it when you hold them in your hands and you just know by the weight.
