Astern of the boat and off to the starboard , the calm of the ocean broke open and the great fish rose out of it, rising, shining dark blue and silver, seemingly to come endlessly out of the water unbelievable as his length and bulk rose out of the sea into the air and seemed to hang there until he fell with a splash that drove the water up high and white.

Papa soaked his long billed cap in the cool of the sea water and fixed it back onto his head and then he was lifting, lowering and reeling and the line was coming on to the spool in sweeps as fast as he could turn the reel handle.

The Papa’s Black Marlin Cap. Exclusively limited to 19 caps only and made to order only so your size is custom made.

1943 US Army tan shelter half canvas crown is attached to a hand cut jet black 8oz buffalo leather long bill visor allowing for 10cm of extended shade and sun protection. All cotton sweatband for comfort  and completely made by Troy O’Shea individually on his 1929 Singer sewing machine.

REALLY nice cap!

Thought this cap was goong to be largely relegated to the occasional trip down south to do some open water fishing in Florida…as is a very distinctive profile with the combination of leather and canvas. But after wearing it around the house today and periodically checking the look in the mirror, this cap is a lot more versatile than being ‘just a fishing cap’. A pair of jeans and a white t-shirt, khakis and a Beach Head chambray shirt. This thing rocks. A keeper for sure…

Amazing rendition of Hemingway-type fishing cap. Well done, sir.
