One by one the crooked wing ‘birds’, circled Henderson Field and then when it’s turn came, banked steeply to come drifting down to the runway to land.

Stepping down from his Corsair, a Marine pilot resplendent in a camouflaged flight jacket, stood for a moment to regain his land legs and then slowly held up his gloved hand with all five fingers up, signalling to the congregated ground personnel that he had downed five ‘meatballs’ in that last sortie and that he was now an instant Ace.

Papa Nui’s Marine Aviators jacket is the first choice of Air Aces all across the Pacific. Tailored to fit in signature USMC Frogskin camouflage, this jacket is light to wear and tough to fight in!

All cotton twill, naval shawl collar, four patch pockets, action sleeve, pen panel and stitched down half belt, the Marine Aviators jacket is a must have. Completely made in Japan this new offering from the Papa is available exclusive by pre-order. Production is due mid year but order will need to be placed soon. Delivery approx end June.

Nice jacket, but oddly sized, and quirky zipper

I am a solid large - 5’11” and 195 lbs, 42” chest, and this thing barely zippers - see pic.

The quality is good, not great - a lot of loose threads inside. I am used to RRL though.

The zipper is tough to catch and fights when pulled, too.

That’s all.

That’s fair Eric,
Being an original pilots jacket the pattern is lean in its styling presumably because you don’t want excess fabric in the cockpit. The zippers are Japanese vintage replicas and so they’re cotton taped. There’s always of element of shrinkage in the tape therefore when the garments are pre washed, this causes the puckering and contributes to the ‘biting’ when pulling the zip up or down. Loose threads? Let’s throw that in with Covid and the war in the Ukraine, that seems to be the catch all excuse these days. Thank you for taking the time to fill this out.

Great design. Quality construction. Perfect fit - I’m a 44 long and the XL fits like it was tailored for me. This will definitely be my go-to jacket this fall.

So glad the fit was spot on Patrick, those vintage patterns tend to be lean in the body but I guess climbing in and out of your Corsair, you can’t be getting hooked up by too much fabric.
